HOW TO RECEIVE JESUS
What does it mean to become a Christian, a believer, a follower of Christ? Some people think you can be a Christian and go to heaven simply by going to a church, synagogue, or mosque. Others think it means being a good person or helpful neighbour. The Bible, on the other hand, points to only one way.
The Savior of all mankind was asked, “How can we know the way?” The reply holds the key to you and everyone’s future:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
God’s Word also tells us that salvation comes as men and women call upon the Lord. Are you ready to discover how to receive Him as Lord and Saviour? God’s free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ is the greatest miracle of all, and it is my prayer for you that you will receive this free gift right now!
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:13-15)
Discover forgiveness, a personal relationship with God, peace, freedom from bondage, wisdom and our Father’s plan for your life.
Understand that God’s desire for you is life, abundant and eternal
The Bible declares:
| “… I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”. (John 10:10)
Giving you abundant life required the supreme sacrifice:
| “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
God desires fellowship and companionship with you. What a wonderful gift the Father has given, yet if God gave His own Son to provide an abundant and everlasting life, why don’t more people have what He has designed for us to receive? It is a question answered by this sobering realization.
When we accept Jesus as Savior and begin a relationship with Him, we are a “born again Christian”. Jesus lives inside of you. You are freed from the overwhelming penalty of sin and as you obey God’s commandments and apply His principles for daily living, the transformation continues. The bible says,
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
As you allow Him to take control and as you choose daily to walk in His obedience, you become more and more like him.
