article6Your Past is washed away By: Evangelist Paul Acquah The very instant you receive Christ as your Lord and saviour, your past is washed away and you become a new person. It’s an immediate transaction where old things are passed away and everything becomes new. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor 5:17) In some matters, the past is better but not with human nature without Christ. Old things need washing away because of our old sinful nature. “For all have sinned (including you and me) and fall short of the glory of God. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Rom 3:23, 6:23) If you’ve not received Christ as your personal saviour, then it’s time for your old nature to be washed away for you to be clothed with Christ’s own righteousness. All born again Christians have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and given a new life in Christ. He is willing to make you a brand new person if you will allow Him to do so. No one can wash your past away and make you new except the Lord who created you first in His own image. You need the precious blood of Jesus to wash your sins away and give you power over sin. If you desire to have a new life today, you can surely have it through Christ our Lord and saviour. He has taken the task of making you righteous in order for you to have right standing with God and He alone is competent for the performance of this most important task. In fact He will give you a new heart to enable you to walk in His ways. He will take your hardened, rocky heart and give you a new one. There’s nothing in your past that He cannot change. He will change your nature by His grace. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Eze 36:26-27). He will forgive you of all your sins because when He died on the cross, God laid on Him the sins of all of us. It would be great if you could go to bed tonight knowing that all the past is different, and that you have become a new creature endued with new strength by faith in Christ Jesus. What a joy to be a member of a Kingdom in which your past, present and future sins are washed away by the precious blood of Jesus. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7) Reader, make haste and receive King Jesus who is all powerful to make all things new in your life because with Him all things are possible. When you put your trust in Him, that’s when He does amazing things in your life. You don’t belong to the Kingdom of God if you don’t believe in Jesus. Why don’t you say to God: “I’m ready for you to make me a new person”. All your past sins would be washed away and you can begin a new life in Christ without condemnation. He will give you abundant life, knowing that your sin debt has been paid in full through His death and resurrection. He works in mysterious ways because He is a miracle working God. Let me assure you that the greatest days of your life are before you. The past is over so stop living your life looking in the rear view mirror. God never consults your past to determine your future. Receive Him today and He will remember your sins no more because your past would be washed away. “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins”. (Isa 43:25) Reader, it sounds too good to be true but it’s the truth because He is a good God. I’m writing this for you to read because many of you are ‘paralysed’ by things you have done in the past. Your past is washed away if you are in Christ and everything has become new. If there is a dark chapter that covers you with shame that you think you can’t walk away from, the blood of Jesus can cleanse you from all unrighteousness. What does Christ want to do for you right now? He loves you and wants the best for you. Christ showed His magnitude of love by dying on the cross for our sins. He accepted the father’s request to come to this earth to give Himself as a ransom for many. He wants to buy you back and redeem you. He wants to forgive you of every sin you ever committed and declare you no longer guilty and become righteous in His sight. He wants to bring you back into relationship with Himself and that’s to reconcile you to God. An offer you can’t refuse. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17) Christ, our sin bearer, came to this earth more than two thousand years ago to reconcile humanity to God. Reconciliation of God and the human race was accomplishedthrough Christ’s atoning death and resurrection. God, by His own grand plan used the only acceptable means, His son, as the perfect sacrifice to reconcile humanity to Himself. We were without hope and dead in our trespasses. Our prospects of having right standing with God were impossible, but with Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection to atone for our sins, we’ve been reconciled to God. Therefore, whoever you may be if you’ve not accepted Christ as your personal saviour, you are living in condemnation, separated from God and enemy of God. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:18,19,36) These are not my words but those of Almighty God. Reader, can you stand the wrath of God? Receive Him today and if you will; pray this prayer below speaking each word out from your heart. Dear Lord: I recognise that I am a sinner and need to be saved. I understand that Jesus died in my place and suffered the judgment of all of my sins. I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and He is at the right hand of the father. Lord Jesus, I surrender my Life to you. Come and Live in my heart and be my Lord and saviour. Thank You for saving me. AMEN!
