article9 Your Passport To Heaven By: Evangelist Paul Acquah Christ’s substitutionary death avoids hell when you die. His death put you on the only path to heaven. All human beings with their sinful nature could never be good enough to stand before almighty God, the only righteous judge. All have sinned, including you and me and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). However, there’s only one way you can have right standing with God. Believing in Christ Jesus is the only way to avoid hell as believers use His inputted righteousness as passport to enter heaven. “Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe” (Rom 6:22) God the father sent His son Jesus to die on the cross as the final and ultimate sacrifice for our sins. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor 5:21). Christ voluntarily died a substitutionary death for all believers. For He Himself said: “I came to give myself as a ransom for many” (Mat 20:28). His death satisfied God to forgive us of our sins. He died the believer’s death and bore the believer’s sin. Note that God is on His throne and He doesn’t accept error. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23). But it doesn’t matter the enormity of your sin, God can bless you with His inputted righteousness. The cross is God making it possible for us to be accepted in His sight. Christ’s shed blood on the cross covers the guilt of all the sins committed and will ever be committed. It’s all about Him making it possible for us to go to heaven. That’s why Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). And surprisingly, many people can’t ‘stand’ this statement but it’s the truth. If it’s true that you can go to heaven without believing in Christ, then Our Almighty God made a big mistake by sending His son to die on the cross. But God doesn’t make mistakes; He’s perfect and ‘all knowing’. If you can go to heaven by being good then there is a big problem because it’s not human nature to do good. Think about how you’ve been living. Even little children rebel against authority. Why are teenagers in such trouble? Christ’s death is unlimited in its sufficiency to cover the sins of all people, but limited in its application. This is because His substitutionary death is applied to only those who receive Him as their Lord and saviour. God is ready to offer His righteousness to all who do not neglect such great salvation because Christ became the object of God’s just wrath in the believer’s place. Are there any of the commandments that you have not broken? We’ve all been guilty at some point in some way. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3: 23). The Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world for the remission of sins – the cross and for that matter Christ Jesus is the only way to heaven. You can’t earn righteousness by means of any kind of religious ceremony or activity apart from faith in Christ. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Eph 2: 8-9). God saves sinners by grace on the basis of faith alone in Christ. It’s only when we give our lives to Christ that we begin to live. All the redeemed were bought at a high price with the blood of Jesus. It cost God His son to redeem mankind from the life of sin. God credits righteousness to all who put their faith in Christ Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. L. Osborn rightly said: “No non-Christian religion offers forgiveness of sins, healing of diseases, security for fear, help for despair, solutions for problems, relief for pain, life for death and transformation.” These blessings comprise the essence of Christ’s gospel. That’s why people of all religions are attracted to our campaign. They listen, believe, receive and are saved and blessed. The message I’m conveying to you is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes because in it, the righteousness of God is revealed that on the basis of faith – and faith in Christ alone, God will input His righteousness to ungodly sinners. Receive His righteousness today through Christ Jesus (your passport to heaven). Let me remind you that your own righteousness is like filthy rags and will lead you to hell if you neglect so great a salvation offered to you right now through this message. “The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Mat 13:41- 43). The Lord in these verses of scripture declares the way He deals with rebels who reject Him and those who heed to His word and receive Him. Some neglect such great salvation that the word of God clearly says to their conscience and heart, “you shall perish, you’re under condemnation, the wrath of God abides on you”. The message I’m passing on to you is the voice of God in your soul. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18) “He who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Truly a sad condemning voice it is. But see now in the same text of scripture, we hear a voice which says: “He who believes in Him is not condemned”. My reader, can you be wise enough to choose Christ? Is this message not worthy of acceptance? Doesn’t it free you from condemnation and hell? Who is beyond death and judgment? “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation” (Heb 9:27-28). Remember that only those who receive this gift of salvation will enter heaven. The most important thing to do is to surrender your life to our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. You can do this right now. Pray this prayer below speaking each word out from your heart. Dear Lord: I recognise that I am a sinner and need to be saved. I understand that Jesus died in my place and suffered the judgment of all of my sins. I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and He is at the right hand of the father. Lord Jesus, I surrender my Life to you. Come and Live in my heart and be my Lord and saviour. Thank You for saving me. AMEN!
