article2Fulfilling the dominion mandate By: Pastor Femi Adebajo. Our Lord Jesus Christ asked the disciples who did the world say am I. The first question you and I need to ask ourselves is who am I? We cannot answer this question without going to read the manufacturer’s manual which is the bible. Genesis 1: 26-29 illustrates the intention of God for man that He created: 26 Then God said, “Let us make people (man) in our image, to be like ourselves. They will be masters over all life—the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the livestock, wild animals, and small animals.” 27 So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and told them, “Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. Be masters over the fish and birds and all the animals.” 29 And God said, “Look! I have given you the seed-bearing plants throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. From the passage above we can say the following concerning man:

  1. Man was created in the image of God
  2. To have dominion (master) over all life (creation)
  3. Man was created male & female
  4. Was blessed by God from beginning
  5. Man is required to multiply and be fruitful
  6. To possess all of creation.
  7. Not to dominate over other men

For an individual to have dominion it implies that there must be a kingdom in which he exercises his authority. This implies that man was given a kingdom originally by God but due to the fall of the first man (Adam) that kingdom was lost. After the loss of the kingdom every man was born spiritually poor. Matt. 5:3-“blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” For man to truly rediscover himself he must seek first the kingdom because therein lies the missing treasures. Matt. 13: 36-43. When we find the kingdom we sell everything because whatever we seek in life is found in the kingdom. The kingdom is what every human heart is constantly searching for, but it can only be found through the knowledge of the word of God. This explains why Jesus Christ came to the world; gave man back the lost kingdom. 2 Timothy 1:9 . . . It is God who saved us and chose us to live a holy life. He did this not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan long before the world began-to show his love and kindness to us through Christ Jesus. Each one of us was chosen by God to live a holy life of dominion(kingdom) and show his love and kindness to us through Christ.1Peter 2: 9 – But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of priests, God’s holy nation, his very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light REM  – The Path To Dominion Mandate
