Fulfilling Destiny By: Pastor Femi Adebajo Text: 3 John 1:1-4 1 The Elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth: 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Destiny is your determined or ordained future by a controlling power. Fulfilling of one’s destiny is hinged on: a) Sound doctrine -1 Timothy 1:10, 2 Timothy 4:3, Titus 2:1 b) Sound words -1 Timothy 6:3, 2 Timothy 1:13 c) Soundness in the faith -Titus 1:13, Titus 2:1 Prosperity is the result of life of commitment, dedication & actions in line with God’s word. Interest keeps you going provided there are no obstacles. Commitment means no matter what comes your way, you continue the journey. Success is required in every area of our lives -spiritual, physical, emotional & material. It should be balanced such that blessing in one area should not deny the others. -Luke 6:38, Psalm 35:27. Prosperity must be based on the truth – 2 John 4, 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20, 1 Corinthians 4:15 Can destiny be altered? 1. Destiny can change from good to bad -1 Samuel 2:30 2. Bad to good – 2 Kings 20:1-6. How can we fulfil our destiny? 1. Ready to launch into the deep –Luke 5:4 -You need great depth in order to reach great heights. The higher a building is the deeper is the foundation. 2. You must be ready to do what others are not doing in order to get what others cannot get. –Proverbs 10:4, Proverbs 12:24 3. All achievements start with belief. If you do not charge your beliefs, you cannot change yourself. It is not who you are that is keeping you back it is who you think you are not so start believing in yourself. -Hebrews 11:6 4. Do not forget that the bees that makes honey can also sting, opportunities come in disguise, depends on how you see it as a bee that stings or a bee to produces honey. What is important is not what we see with our physical eyes but the invisible we see with our spiritual eyes. 5. Be focused – if you chase 2 rabbits you catch none.-James 1:8 6. You can predict your future by creating it. – Let your thoughts be aligned with that of God. Pray for insights. 7. Reset your priorities 8. Be prayerful and 9. Surrender all to the Lord
